Celebrating TVRC: 2024-2025 Roundup Recap
A common question from those outside of the professional camp world is, so what do you do in the off-season? The time between summers at the TVRC office is full of planning, enrollment, and hiring for the summer ahead. However, one of our favorite aspects of our time away from the Ranch is the opportunity to connect with our community across the country during our Roundup tour.
At TVRC, we welcome campers from more than 35 states and four countries and recognize the commitment that families make each season to get their camper to the Ranch. Further, we have many alumni, past parents, as well past and current staff members spread across the country who don’t have the opportunity to visit the Ranch as frequently. Thus, we strive to bring the TVRC energy and enthusiasm on the road, whether it be in Boston, Chicago, or Denver, to give our community near and far the opportunity to re-connect.
This Roundup season we hosted events in eleven cities and, with the support of a few alumni and current parents, had two “Roundup-in-a-Box” events. Thank you to our many hosts and tour guides who helped to make this year’s Roundups so special!
By providing a chance for those connected to TVRC to gather, we can build bridges between campers, parents, staff, and alumni— often spanning generations. For a prospective family attending a Roundup, they are able to witness the power of our network first hand and learn more about the opportunities that TVRC can offer their child.
A highlight of each Roundup is when we ask our current campers to share their thoughts about what makes the TVRC experience so special. There is something uplifting and reassuring about hearing a rising Rough Rider or Top Hand, who just completed their first summer at TVRC, speak to the strength of the friendships cultivated over the summer, the confidence built in overcoming challenges on the trail, the value of life away from technology, and the power of being able to be their true-self for a month. In Marshall’s recent blog, This Stuff Works, he speaks to the magic combination of our program, culture, history, and people that make our western ranch camp experience so impactful. Our Roundup tour is a celebration of the love that our community holds for TVRC and their continued belief in the power of the Teton Valley Ranch Camp experience.
