At TVRC, safety is our top priority. That’s why we are bringing in Shepard Humphries, the founder of JHSE, to train our staff. Humphries is renowned for his expertise in firearms instruction and has even led a team that set the world record for the longest rifle shot ever at 4.4 miles in 2022. His experience and dedication to safety make him the perfect fit for our camp. Humphries not only teaches our staff the technical aspects of target shooting but also instills advanced teaching techniques that make learning engaging and memorable. He uses the shooting experience as a metaphor for life, encouraging our staff to make analogies that resonate with campers. One of his key lessons is, “If you are hitting every single target every single time - you are not shooting for difficult enough targets. It’s like life; we experience losses and failures unless we take the easy road, but the feeling of success when we try something really difficult and succeed is the best!”
