Get to Know Doug Ross - Our Barn Manager
How did you hear about TVRC?
I saw an ad for employment with TVRC in the back of Western Horseman magazine and decided it sounded like a fun job.
What’s your favorite activity to do in the valley?
My favorite activity in the valley is definitely skiing.
Who or what inspires you?
I am inspired by people that step out of their comfort zones and try new things or challenge the “norm”.
What’s the best concert you’ve ever attended?
I like to go to smaller venues to watch concerts, a few of my favorite smaller concerts have been Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, Slaid Cleaves, David Bromberg, Nikki Lane, and many others. I saw Dolly Parton in concert a few years ago and she sang and told jokes for three hours, that was a great concert!
If you could travel anywhere in the blink of an eye where would you go?
Africa, I’d love to see all of the animals.
What’s your favorite trip or activity at TVRC?
I really like breakfast rides and i’ve been fortunate enough to go on a few packtrips, which I love.
What’s your favorite song to sing around the campfire?
Song of Wyoming or Desert Pete.
If you could live in Jackson Hole in any era when what would you choose and why?
I would say Jackson in the 1920’s when it was still very rugged but progressive enough to elect an all female town council.
What are you most looking forward to in your time at TVRC?
I am looking forward to helping provide a fun an educational experience for campers and staff members. I hope that they fall in love with Teton Valley Ranch Camp and the valley the same way I did when I first experienced it in 2001.
